Now Accepting Budget Advisory Committee Applications

We are looking for 4 MHUSD Parents (Elementary, Middle School, High School, and K-8/Alternative Ed) and 4 Community Members (Community Based Organizations, Higher Education, City of Morgan Hill, Chamber of Commerce Partners) to join our District Budget AdvisoryCommittee (BAC). 

The responsibilities of BAC members will include

  • Attend all scheduled meetings

  • Gather and share feedback to and from constituents

  • Follow and maintain all established norms as determined by the BAC

Please see below for important information regarding application timeline, deadlines, and meeting dates. 

The application will be open from July 1 to July 26, 2024. It is important that all questions are answered thoroughly and completely. Incomplete applications may not be considered. 

The BAC will be meeting on the following dates from 6-8pm:

  • August 8

  • August 22

  • September 5

  • September 19

  • October 3 - Community forum for feedback

  • October 10 - Community forum for feedback

  • October 17

  • November 7

  • December 5

 

Each meeting will have food, childcare, and simultaneous translation.

BAC membership will reflect our district's demographics (SES, ethnic/racial, special education, geographic, gender, linguistic, etc.). Membership will comprised of the following representatives:

  • (2) Certificated Staff (MHFT selected)

  • (2) Classified Staff (MHCEA selected)

  • (2) MHELA (1 site and 1 District Office; MHELA selected)

  • (2) Board Trustees

  • (1) Elementary Parent

  • (1) Middle School Parent

  • (1) High School Parent

  • (1) K-8 or (1) Alternative Education Parent

  • (4) Community Based Organizations/Higher Education/City of Morgan Hill/COC Partners

 

*Superintendent Executive Cabinet attends BAC meetings

Further, the BAC shall develop recommendations following the Board's strategic budget priorities. This term is through December 2024. Its duties shall be assigned each year based on district needs. All recommendations of the Committee shall be advisory only and shall not be binding on the Board.

The electronic application will be available July 1-26. There will be hard copies available at the District Office, El Toro Health Science Academy, and Central High School (both summer school sites).

BAC Members will be notified in early August and the first BAC meeting is scheduled for August 8 from 6 to 8pm.
