Paid Pathway to a Career in Special Education
Morgan Hill Unified School District is proud to share a new Special Education (SPED) Apprenticeship Program, offered in partnership with the Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE) and Gavilan College.
This paid apprenticeship provides a supported, affordable pathway into a career in education. Participants work as special education paraeducators while completing tuition-free coursework toward an Associate of Arts (AA) degree, with a clear pathway to continue on to a bachelor’s degree and teaching credential.
The program is designed for:
Current or aspiring special education paraeducators
Community members interested in a career in education
Individuals seeking a flexible, supported pathway into teaching
Participants receive mentorship and ongoing support, with classes offered in the evenings and on weekends. Scholarships are available, and the program is open to individuals at many stages of their educational journey. Information and support are available in Spanish.
Community members, families, and staff are encouraged to learn more and share this opportunity with anyone who may be interested.
