Please go to wetravel.com to sign up or get the QR code here.
Congratulations to the MHUSD Marching Band
They were the 2nd highest scoring band across all 4 divisions and took 1st place as well as all awards for the 3A division. They received a score of 75.025, which was an 8 point jump from last week. Congratulations to Greg Chambers and our Marching Band students!
Note on masks
This is a reminder that everyone must wear masks when indoors on campus, regardless of vaccination status. This is a mandate from the CDPH. Though we are encouraged by low rates of Covid-19 cases in Santa Clara County, we are still experiencing Covid-19 exposures from positive cases at Sobrato each week. Please reinforce this policy with your student that they must wear a mask properly over their mouth and nose when inside classrooms and all buildings on campus. This includes all indoor athletic events.
Academic Focus Week (December 6-10)
The week before finals is referred to as Academic Focus Week. This week is primarily dedicated to preparing students for their semester exams. There will be four tutorials and no advisory this week. Although teachers may introduce new material, the week should be predominantly used as review. Contrary to popular belief among students, homework during Academic Focus Week is permitted and appropriate.
Is your student struggling with their math class? We have several ways to support your student.
All costumes must be dress code compliant. No weapons are allowed. Masks or face painting should not make students unrecognizable.

Wellness Center Feedback
MHUSD and the new Wellness Center Counselors are in the process of deciding which resources and support will be most helpful for students and families. These resources will be available in our Wellness Centers, located at each middle school and high school. Please be sure to take this survey to give your feedback, which was also emailed to families.
Fingerprinting, Tuberculosis Screening/Testing, COVID Vaccination
What is the definition of a school volunteer?
A volunteer is any caring adult in the student’s life or a member of our local community who willingly and freely gives their time, regardless of frequency and duration, to support educational programs. Morgan Hill Unified values volunteers and the positive contributions they make to our schools and programs.
What are examples of volunteer opportunities?
Volunteer opportunities may fall into any of the following categories:
How are volunteers processed to ensure that students are as safe as possible, especially during COVID?
According to CDPH guidelines to keep schools open, “Schools should limit nonessential visitors, volunteers, and activities involving external groups or organizations with people who are not fully vaccinated.” We want to welcome back volunteers in a limited capacity during the pandemic, and the safest way to do so is to limit the number of additional interactions on each campus and to ensure that all volunteers, walk-on coaches, substitute teachers, and contractors are fully vaccinated, in addition to having updated TB results on file and fingerprint clearance.
Although volunteer opportunities may be more limited than in previous years, Interested volunteers will complete and submit a volunteer packet directly to the school to learn more about the opportunities available at that site. Prior to volunteering, all prospective volunteers must be cleared through Human Resources:
Human Resources Volunteer Processing
MHUSD District Office
15600 Concord Circle, Morgan Hill, CA 95037
Tuesday & Thursday 12:30 PM – 3:30 PM
Prospective volunteers will bring the following items to Human Resources:
Once TB results and COVID vaccine card are on file and fingerprints are cleared, the volunteer will be called to pick up a volunteer badge. This badge should be worn whenever the volunteer is on a school site or school sponsored trip. This badge indicates that a volunteer has been cleared and, once approved by the site for a volunteer opportunity, may be used at any site or program as evidence of clearance.
NOTE: Volunteers who were cleared prior to 2020 need to return to Human Resources to verify the date of their TB results, submit verification of COVID vaccine, and receive a new volunteer badge with new COVID clearance.
Rotary Flash Fiction Contest
The District is sponsoring the Rotary's Flash Fiction Contest, which challenges writers to create a fictional story at 100 words or less. Students are competing for prizes, with the top prize being $250 in cash. There are two categories, a Youth category and an Adult Category (18 and over). The contest runs through Dec. 10, 2021.
